Rounding out the year with YDRS

I close the year of 2008 with a quick note. We saw lots of folks all over the world, we crossed the USA and Europe multiple times. Packed into our 1974 MCI bus we did our best to spread joy and frivolity in a time of concern for the everyman.  Highlights would be the Lightning in a Bottle festival, pictured above, where we got to preach to the converted, play to our beloved community, and let it all hang out. Rothbury was another delight, a festival well produced and in a beautiful setting.  Perhaps someday one of these festivals will see fit to give us a mainstage slot and let us shine on the masses.  In fact one did! The Electric Picnic in Ireland booked us as the first band of the festival, the great honor of warming up the mainstage for Goldfrappe, Sigur Ros and The Sex Pistols. Alas, our luck fell short and the festival gates were still sorting out their hinges and were opened only as we finished our spectacular display (to a small crowd of staff and vendors). We were heard, but not seen. A long way to go.  But what can you do? We persevere and strive to beat the fates into submission and will them to allow our voices to be heard, manifesting our grand YAWP into the universe. What will 2009 bring? Hope I see you out there!
